The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now Cairo. The Great Pyramid was built for Khufu (Cheops), Pharaoh of the fourth dynasty of the former Egypt. The estimated date of completion of the Great Pyramid is 2570 BC. It was the highest building of the world until the 19th century.

The pyramid of Khafre was raised in the XXVI century BC. In ancient times it was called the Great Pyramid, because its slightly more elevated location make Khafre's Pyramid appear larger than the Great Pyramid.

The pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest one. It was known in ancient times as The Divine Pyramid.
